Nadine's Dance Center provides quality dance instruction in a healthy positive environment, encourages creativity, focuses on each student individually, and encompasses all areas of performing arts. We teach dance and performance skills that a student will use for a lifetime, but most importantly, we encourage self-confidence, friendships, and a dance family. The studio offers Classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acro/Tumbling, and Theater.
NADINE ALTIERI, Director
A lifelong native of Gloucester, she knew at a very young age she wanted to teach dance. Nadine studied classical ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, pointe, and hip-hop. After receiving a B.A. in Fine Arts Dance from Eastern Connecticut State University in '98 she returned to Gloucester in 1999 to pursue a teaching career. Throughout college, she was a varsity member of the nationally competitive Dance Team, a member of the Repertory Dance Troupe, and served as President junior year and senior year. Following graduation, she was hired by the University as the advisor, technical director, and choreographer for RDT and also taught in Connecticut. Upon returning to Gloucester, she taught in Beverly, Gloucester, Danvers, North Shore Community College, and Hamilton-Wenham Public Schools. Nadine established and coached the Endicott College Dance Team for 5 years. After much traveling to teach, she opened Nadine's Dance Center in 2002. Most recently she performed with Forty Steps Dance Company. Carrying out her performance experience, Nadine created an annual Nutcracker Production at the studio, now in its sixth year.
BRENNA KENNEY, Company Director graduated from Salem State University studying Early Childhood Education and Dance. She trained at Donna Coco's Performance Plus in Salisbury, MA for fifteen years and was a member of the competition company for 10 years. She was a member of the Repertory Dance Theatre at Salem State and a choreographer. Brenna was also a member of the SSU Dance Team. She opened for the Radio City Rockettes at the Wang Theatre in Boston in 2010 and has filmed for MTV dance research. Brenna has had many opportunities to work with New York choreographers and attended the College Dance Festival throughout college. In June 2015 Brenna traveled to Disney with SSU to perform and participate in their education program for aspiring professionals! She performed in the Musical Legally Blonde in the summer of 2016. She is excited to work with our kids for her 14th year! Brenna teaches ALL Company groups, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and private lessons at our studio.
HALEY ALTIERI, Teacher is currently a Finance major and Dance minor student at Endicott College where she also participates in the Repertory Dance Ensemble. In addition to her training at NDC, she trained at Northeast School of Ballet, North Atlantic Ballet, and Aurora Borealis Dance Company, along with working with renowned choreographers such as Nikki Sao-Pedro Welch, Katie Pustizzi, Zach Betty, Joseph Jefferies, Julie Pike Edmond, Ryan Casey, Stacey Enyart, Pearlann Porter, Chavi Bansal, Denise Cecere, Lucy Whitman, Sally Slegel, to name a few. She has performed in annual productions including The Nutcracker, The Little Mermaid, Paquita, and Giselle. Haley specializes in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and acro. Haley has been dancing at Nadine's Dance Center since she was two years old, and competing since she was eight. Haley currently choreographs competition solos for various ages, teaches recreational classes, and runs the Acrobatic Arts program at the studio. Haley is a certified instructor from Acrobatic Arts. She is excited to work with the students again this year!
AMY FITZGERALD, Assistant Teacher has been dancing with Nadine's Dance Center since she was 6 years old. She grew up participating in competitions and the annual Nutcracker performance. Amy specializes in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and contemporary. She began assisting classes at a young age and has been on staff since 2016. Amy is an assistant teacher and choreographs groups and solos. She is excited to work with the students again this year!
